Timetable for Advanced Extension Tutorials

We have now put together the timetable for the Advanced Extension tutorial classes for this year. There will be 7 sessions, each on a Wednesday lunchtime, starting from Wednesday 21st March. Each session will be taken by a different member of the department and will have a particular focus based on past and specimum papers. The sessions will take the form of discussion and question analysis with some consideration given to strategies for tackling the essay based questions.

'BIG ISSUES'

There is no additional content to learn for the Advanced Extension paper above that which you will be revising for your A2 physical, human and synoptic exams anyway. In the Advanced Extension exam you will be given geographical topics simply as contexts in which you will be able to apply you knowledge and understanding of the aspects of geography you have covered during your A'level course.

Although there is no formal content to learn specificially for the Advanced Extension exam, in order to help prepare yourself you should try and keep up-to-date with the 'Big Issues' which are in the news. You should therefore over the next few months try and keep your knowledge fresh, by watching the news and reading newspapers. This blog will also be updated with links to key news articles as well as a series of "Specials" in which 'Big Issues will be highlighted with links to articles / background reading".

This is not supposed to be the source of lots of extra work, just a way of keeping you uptodate with the latest geographical news!
